Scope

The American Institute of Graphic Artists (AIGA) is the oldest American association for graphic designers. Number 2 Studio worked with the Chicago chapter’s DEI committee to improve their digital engagement and help them define their voice.

Concept

We proposed an influencer strategy to increase their online presence to a younger audience while exposing a new generation of creatives to the longstanding association by platforming up-and-coming creatives. We partnered with AIGA Chicago to curate an Instagram Takeover, selecting a group of Chicago’s brightest up-and-coming African American designers, artists, and content creators to honor Black History Month. On the Daily showcased influential Chicago creatives like Shani Crowe, Tonika Johnson, and Nolis Anderson, among others; this not only provided content for their Instagram accounts but also generated excitement around AIGA Chicago, giving them a platform and voice to advocate for diversity and inclusivity.

Results

AIGA's social media analytics revealed a 4760% increase from the previous month. Number 2 Studio was hands-on with the curation and strategy of On the Daily's inaugural month. The Chicago chapter would continue to execute this strategy for future heritage months.
